IMPORTANT NOTE: Charlotte County introduced a new building code effective January 1st 2004 that requires all new construction that is in a designated Flood Zone, and requires more than 12 inches of fill dirt to meet the 10 foot required flood elevation, is built on a stem wall. This new code will mean an estimated additional cost of between $12,000 and $18,000 depending on the size of property.
